((NOTE: I'm not sure if this should go in here, or in "Elsewhere." Also, noting the date - May set this up so it corresponds to the thread in the military wing)) Kaitelanna sat in her wooden chair, waiting for the others to arrive the the conference. She only sucked on her lip, waiting for someone to occupy the empty room with her. Annikka was to inform Caden Larken and Livana Ninoveltz...She couldn't remember who else was spreading the word, but she wouldn't have assigned the job to someone horribly irresponsible. She herself had only sat there for five minutes or so. She looked about the room, watching intently for any signs of movement. Two more minutes past. Still nothing. Kaitelanna sighed heavily as she folded her arms and readjusted her position in her seat. ((OOC: Kinda short ))

Noah strode into the conference room to find it was only occupied by one other person. Inwardly he swore. He had thought to show up a bit late, and now it seemed that he was in fact, early. Ah, well. It was much too late to leave now. The advisor had seen him now. He gave her a nod and took a seat, plopping a stack of papers down in front of him. Really, there was only about ten papers in there that actually pertained to Scanra. The rest were there to make it look like he actually cared. About what? He wasn't quite sure.
Noah didn't really want to be here, but he figured he must. People would be expecting it, and it wouldn't be good to hide his face. So, he came. What help he could be, it wasn't quite certain. Noah glanced at the advisor once again and decided against starting conversation. Besides, what would he say? He would just wait for someone else to come along.

Kaitelanna watched as Noah Callum sat in his usual chair. She was uncertain if she should say anything. The Provost himself looked a little unsure of himself. She just continued looking about the room, sometimes catching the man glancing quickly at her.
She coughed quietly, and said loudly across the room, "I know it seems like you're early, but in fact everyone else is just, eh...running a little late."
She looked away from Noah, her attention drawing towards her papers. Kaitelanna was absolutely unpositive (if that were possible) if the man would say something back in reply, just nod his head, or ignore her. Whatever he did, she wanted him to do it soon.

Noah looked up as Lady Kaitelanna coughed gently and spoke to him.
"I know it seems like you're early, but in fact everyone else is just, eh...running a little late."
He gave a grim smile, though it hardly showed. "So it would seem. And we must be left to sit here, waiting on people who are most likely spending their time doing something foolish."
Noah made no attempt to show his annoyance. Though Lady Kaitelanna should hardly care, it would be a point to make when the others entered.

"So it would seem. And we must be left to sit here, waiting on people who are most likely spending their time doing something foolish."
Kaitelanna nodded, still glancing around. Where was everyone? She sighed lightly.
"I assume you've...eh... had an interesting day?" she said, feeling quite foolish. She knew it sounded that way, but it was a little better than an awkward silence.
Why was everyone so tardy? Once again she shifted position, brushing off her skirt.
((OOC: Holy crap this is short.))

"So it would seem. And we must be left to sit here, waiting on people who are most likely spending their time doing something foolish."
Annikka winced and poked her head through the door, fully expecting Lady Kaitelanna or Noah Callum to start chewing her out there and then. "I found them. Sorry I'm late. Got lost."
She sidled indoors, avoiding the Provost's eye, and sat down in her seat. There were papers in front of her, left by a student she'd asked to send everything the healers had pertaining to Scanra, which wasn't much. Mostly, it was descriptions of the usual wounds and how they came about, and the casualties, numbers of, where and when the most casualties appeared. She picked them up, and pretended to read them, along with the ones everyone had, neatly and offically bound.
The title on the front of the official [a[ers caught her eye: Reassessment of this Country's Diplomatic Attitude to Scanra. She suppressed a sigh, and laid the papers down. It was going to be a long meeting.

Kaitelanna sighed as Annikka made her excuse.
"I found them. Sorry I'm late. Got lost."
Her eyes watched lazily as Livana Ninoveltz, Caden Laken, and an unimportant looking girl entered behind the healer.
How long has she been living here, Kaitelanna thought to herself.
Ignoring Lady Annikka's explanation she went on to say rapidly, "I'm glad you decided to join us, Lady Annikka, Lady Livana, Sir Caden, and ehm...." Her eyes turned to the girl again. "Who exactly, are you and why are you here?" she asked sternly.
As Livana started to say something, Kaitelanna stopped her.
"Lady Livana, I know who you are and why you're here. I'm asking the young lady beside you."
Kaitelanna picked up a pencil, leaning back in her chair. This would be interesting.

Ani had to be at a politics meeting in five minutes. However, she had to be there in five minutes ten minutes ago.
She had brushed her hair until not a snagle was seen and it gleamed, straight and dark down her back. She liked to make sure she looked good, expecially in meetings when there were idiotic males. They took her more seriously the nicer she looked. And besides, she could never look anything less than royal.
Setting her crown firmly on her head, and keeping it straight, she shook out her silver skirts. They were a pale colour with red threads weaving in and out, complimenting her skin tone.
She didn't hurry down to where she needed to be; the conferense was sure to be long and boring, and she didn't want to get there any tme before she had to.
She got to the room, her flat shoes padding on the floor easily, so she made no noise. A princess shouldn't stomp her way anywhere. She scanned the room as she sat down gracefully in her seat. There wasn't an intelligant person in the room. Great.

"I assume you've...eh... had an interesting day?" Kaitelanna asked, trying to fill the silence. Noah sighed inwardly. Why does this woman have to keep talking to me?
"Hardly. It's been boring. I was ... preparing ... for this, so I didn't get a chance to get out," Noah said in a bored voice.
"I found them. Sorry I'm late. Got lost," a voice said, as Annikka HaMinch popped her head in. She entered the room and didn't make eye contact with him as she took a seat. Noah chose not to say anything. It wasn't worth his time.
Livana Ninoveltz and that knight Caden Laken entered the room next. Why on earth the knight was here, Noah could only guess. It would seem that he knew something about Scanra. Or something to that effect. Then there was a scraggly looking girl. Noah didn't think she had any business being there and was about to say so when the advisor said, "Who exactly, are you and why are you here?"
Noah decided to save the girl from answering and gave a reply of his own. "Does it really matter? She doesn't belong here. Why don't you get about your business?" He directed the last question at the girl, hoping she would leave. But maybe it would be interesting if she stayed. Or not.
Not too long after, the princess entered the room. Great, thought Noah, one more distraction.

Caden followed the ladies into the room. He scanned the area, as he would customarily. He saw two people already there. Apparently waiting. Seeing as one of them was a male, Caden sighed. About time!
As Annikka and Livana headed to their respective seats, Caden wondered where he should sit. While he was hesitating, the two people who were previously in the room spoke to Tayln. It was painfully obvious that they did not want her in the room.
Caden spoke softly to her. "Maybe you should just do what you came to do and leave." He didn't really remember what she came here to do, something with her brother, who Caden did not see.
Caden headed over to a seat and was almost going to sit in it when the princess came in and took the seat for herself. Giving a silent sigh of relief that he hadn't sat there, Caden took the seat next to Annikka and settled in for some serious boredom.

"Does it really matter? She doesn't belong here. Why don't you get about your business?"
Kaitelanna glanced over to Noah Callum as the others took their seats.
"Eh, yes, please...we should get our meeting started as soon as possible."
As she spoke, she noticed Princess Anitha enter quietly. Kaitelanna decided not to say anything to the princess, as she looked rather irritated. That, of course, wasn't a large surprise.

(OCC: Ani does NOT look irritated! She keeps her face in check, thank you very much. She looks DISINTRESTED. There is a difference!!)
"Eh, yes, please...we should get our meeting started as soon as possible."
Ani was tempted to roll her eyes. Then why don't we, oh, I don't know... Start?
Of course, that wouldn't be happening soon. Emeli hadn't came yet. Not that she would be much of a help if we're discussing anything worthwhile, but it's probably some idiocity.
So there they sat. with Kaitelanna making idiotic 'small talk'. Honestly, that woman was incompent at her job. Why Emeli hired her, Ani would never know. She desereved to be fired at once.
(OCC: Yo, we can't get this going until Emeli comes.)

(OOC: Sorry!)
Emeli walked down the corridor and pushed open the conference door, surveying the company as they rose to curtsey and bow and trying to exude a general impression of I'm-not-late-everyone-else-is-early.
Annikka was there, looking a little sheepish; the Provost, looking decidedly disgruntled.
Ani was there of course, appearing indifferent to the proceedings as ever, the Spymistress, a lone knight who seemed distinctly unhappy to be in a meeting, a small girl who looked rather as if Ani had taken her sharp tongue to her... Emeli wondered who else should, or as the case might be shouldn't, be here.
"You may be seated," she said, smiling politely as she took her seat.

Ani furrowed her brow. Finally. And now they could get to talking about... Reassessment of this Country's Diplomatic Attitude to Scanra.
Oh, joy. Well, might as well get this started. Reading the name off the papers that she had been given, she said, "Well, we should probably start." She smiled, somewhat bracing herself, and said, "So how exactly are we to go about reassessing this country's diplomatic attitude towards Scanra?"
Don't we like Scanra? Why are we reasessing....?

Emeli took a quick look at the top page of the paperwork. "I understand, sister, that there have been an unusual number of skirmishes along the border, concentrated near forts and towns. More raids than normal, money in Scanran banks frozen... take a look. It's all there. We can't just ignore it."
She looked around again. "Are we missing anyone at all, Lady Kaitelanna?"
